Winter Solstice stag

Hello,
this is my DT card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge for November, where the theme is anything goes with the option of Winter Solstice.

I started with an 8 x 8 Kraft card blank, I used Limetree's Evergreen card and Cream Shimmer card, one of Tonic's Craft Perfect green cards and Kraft card. The background paper is from Trimcraft's Golden Winter pad.

I used Tonic dies: Layering Circles for the green mat, Yuletide Greetings for the wreath and Autumnal Oak for the leaves. The green branches were cut using Spellbinder's Build a Wreath, and I added green Wink of Stella to the branches, although it doesn't really show in the photo.

The stag was stamped and cut using a free gift from Simply Cards & papercraft magazine, and the sentiment was also a free gift from Papercraft Essentials. I finished it off with some red pearls to represent holly berries.

I hope you like my card, and that you will join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month. If you've time to leave a comment that would be great.

Engagement card and box

Hello,
One of my nieces announced her engagement a few days ago so I thought I'd make a special card for her, and a box for it too.

I started with a white 8 x 8 card blank and cut 2.5 inches off the right side of the front. I decorated the front with a purple mat and then cream card which had been embossed with the Tonic Amelia embossing folder. I chose a Hunkydory Engagement verse from the Second Little Book of Poetry and put it on a purple mat. I put this on the front with foam pads.

The inside of the card was decorated with embossed cream card on a periwinkle mat, and hearts decorated with the couple's initials cut using the Tonic Clarice die and Affections hearts. I created an area to write with cream paper on a purple mat and added the Celebrate Tonic Miniature Moments die.

To make the box I used the Hunkydory Adorable Scoreboard. I created a double mat using purple and cream card, and decorated it with cream card embossed using the Amelia embossing folder, the Affections heart and the couple's initials.

I hope you like this project, thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Easel birthday card for Mom

Hello,
this is the birthday card I made for my Mom, I started it last year but then lost it and thought I'd thrown it away by accident - so I had to buy a card for her!! Then months later I found the bits and pieces so thought I'd put it all together and finish it off for her birthday this year.

It's a 7 x 7 easel card made using mainly Tonic products: Amelia embossing folder, Budding Vine panel die, Bellus Buttercup flower, Pretoria alphabet and the sentiment from the Pansy die set. I'm not sure what dies I used for the foliage though as I cut them last year!

I was aiming for a fresh look and I think the cream, yellow and green card combo achieved this, my Mom was pleased with the card which is the main thing.

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Fairy birthday card

Hello,
I made this birthday card for my niece who was a bit like Agnes from the Minions movies when she was little, and likes unicorns!

I used an 8 x 8 black card blank and the Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom kit, plus some marble Adorable Scorable card as a mat for the topper. Then I added some lilac pearls to finish it off.

I forgot to take a photo of the inside and have already left the card for her! However what I did was use an insert on the right side and put a matching border down the left of the insert. I also cut a unicorn from white card using the Magical Kingdom Moonstone die set and added that to the left side of the inside.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment if you'd like to.

Happy halloween

Hello,
these are my cards for the Fairy and Unicorn October Challenge, also the first Halloween cards I've ever made!

The first one is made using the Skellie Gossip stamp from IkesArt which I mounted on to black card and then added cobwebs to the corners. I created the background and sentiment using Craft Artist and some Halloween digikits which I then layered on to the same card, then added the skeleton image using some foam pads.

The second one is also from IkesArt and is called Trick or Treat. For this one I made my first Z fold card. I coloured the image using Promarkers in Orange, Terracotta, Gold, Almond and Black, plus Spectrum Noir CG3 Green. I cut the image with an oval die and layered on to black card. I decorated the Z fold piece with orange card which I'd embossed with a dotty embossing folder and layered it on to black card. I used green card to match the dress for the top panel. To finish it off I drew a cobweb and added a Trick or Treat sentiment and a pumpkin.

I hope you like the cards, please join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month.

Another anniversary card

Hello,
this is an anniversary card made for my bother and sister-in-law.

I basically used two 8 x 8 cards with the backs glued together, I then scored the two fronts down the middle to create a folded back gate fold card.

To decorate the inside I had chosen a page from the Hunkydory Little Book of Anniversaries which I layered on to silver mirri and then I created a mat of pink patterned paper to co-ordinate with the image.

On the two front panels I matted and layered the same pink patterned paper on to silver mirri to create two panels. I decorated the panels with the Tonic Happy Anniversary sentiment, Affections heart and initials cut using the Tonic Clarice alphabet, all cut from deep pink card and silver mirri layered together.

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Have a jolly, trolly Christmas!

Hello there,
here's my DT card for September's Fairy and Unicorn Challenge blog, it's also my first Christmas card of the year! Better get a move on with the rest lol.

The troll image is a Bugaboo digital stamp which I've coloured using my Spectrum Noir alcohol pens: TB1, 2, 3, 4 and 6; BG1, 2 and 3; and CR8. The image is layered on to some freebie snowflake paper, the 8 x 8 card base has a dark blue mat and some Tonic blue on white snowflake paper. The sentiment is a freebie stamp done in Memento marine blue on white, then layered on to a dark blue mat. Both were cut using the Tonic oval die. I finished it off with a red ribbon and bow, plus red pearls added to the image and the earrings, and added some Glamour Dust to the darker highlights in the hair.

I'm not sure who I'll give it to at Christmas but I hope they will like it, and that you do too. If you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it, and please join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month.

Reindeer and sleigh

Hello,
My second Christmas card so far - made so I can enter it for the Win & Tonic August challenge.

I used a white A5 tent fold card base on to which I layered a red mat. I cut another slightly smaller mat from gold card and added vellum which I'd embossed using a snowflake embossing folder, securing it the the gold card with dark gold brads. I then adhered the velum layer to the card front.

The sleigh and reindeer were cut using the Tonic Regal Reindeer and Santa's Sleigh dies from a couple of years ago, and I added some gold mousse to the embossed parts of the reindeer. Using foam pads I layered the two sleigh die cuts together in an off set way to try and show some perspective, and added them to the card front. Then I added the reindeer in front of the sleigh. The sentiment was cut from the same red card also using the sentiment from Tonic's 'Tis the Sean Wreath die.

I hope you like the card, if you'd like to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Happy anniversary purple and white

Hello,
this is an anniversary card made for friends of mine.

I basically used two 7 x 7 cards with the backs glued together, I then scored the two fronts down the middle to create a folded back gate fold card.

To decorate the inside I had chosen a page from the Hunkydory Little Book of Anniversaries so I created a mat of lilac card to co-ordinate with the image. I matted the image on to purple card, and cut strips using the Tonic Intricate Frame DL layering die set from the same purple card to decorate the sides.

On the front I created panels from purple card on to which I layered rose patterned embossed card which I'd dusted with purple ink to highlight the embossing. I decorated the panels with the Tonic Happy Anniversary sentiment, Affections heart and initials cut using the Tonic Clarice alphabet, all cut from purple card.

I'm entering this for the Win & Tonic Challenge for July:Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Sun ray birthday card

Hello there,
Here's another go at paper piecing using the Tonic Sun Ray Scene die, the others are the Summer Cornfields and Sunshine and Flowers.

This time I cut the Sun Ray Scene die from kraft card, did a partial cut of the bottom from green Craft Perfect card using the textured side to represent the grass in the fields. The two shades of yellow were leftovers from the other cards.

I layered the kraft card frame on to cream card, then that on to gold mirror card and then finally on to a kraft card blank. I then paper pieced the bits into the frame. I cut the centre circle from gold card and layered it on to gold mirror card to match the mount. The sentiment is cut from a Kanban page of sentiments.

I'm entering this in to the Win & Tonic July Challenge: Anything goes.

I hope you like this variation, if you've time to leave a comment it would be much appreciated.

Mermaid wishes - under the sea

Hello,
this is my DT card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month, which is anything goes with the option of under the sea.

I started with a white 8 x 8 card blank on to which I layered a pale yellow mat. The free gift in a recent issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft was some Mermaid wishes papers and stamps so I used one of the papers as another mat on the card front. Using the Create and Craft Couture Sea Siren die set I cut the mermaid, some starfish and seashells from golden yellow card, and 3 sets of seaweed from dark sea green card. Using the oval die from Tonic's Art Nouveau die set I cut a base from the pale yellow card and the detail from light sea green card.

I used a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to add some sparkle to the mermaid's tail. I layered the detail die cut on to the base mat, then added the sea weed, mermaid and a few starfish to the topper. I then adhered the topper to the right side of the card using foam pads.

I stamped the sentiment, then using the Tonic Bowscale die cut that out and also a mat from the pale sea green card. This was attached to the top left of the card using foam pads. I then dotted the golden yellow starfish and seashells about the card front.

Thanks for stopping by, please join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge.

Best wishes in cream and gold

Hello,
This is a card I've made using some of the "leftovers" in my bits and bobs box.

I used a light gold 7 x 7 card blank and a mix of cream, dark gold, light gold and a cream and gold patterned card backing card from Hunkydory. The centre piece is made using the Tonic Decorative Wreath die with different elements in gold, cream and dark gold which were left over from other cards. The flower was cut using a Tattered Lace die, and the sentiment is cut from a Kanban page of sentiments. I finished it off in the corners and the middle of the flower with gold pearls.

I used an 8 x 8 silver card blank on to which I matted and layered black card and then a silver embossed patterned card. I used an image from the Hunkydory Anniversaries Little Book matted on to black card.

To finish it off I die cut my friends' initials using the Tonic Clarice die set and a heart using a Crafter's Companion from silver mirri card, and added some Craftwork Cards silver card candi and a silver and white organza ribbon bow.

Rock and records birthday card

Hello there,
this is the birthday card I made for my brother this year, as he was getting a lot of music type presents I thought this quite fitting.

I started with an 8 x 8 black card blank and created a fold back front. I used black card and white card to create some layers in the font and inside. Then on to that layered some record paper from a Vintage Americana paper booklet which came free with a magazine ages ago.

I took an image from the Hunkydory Little Book of Everything with guitars on and matted it on to Limetree Crafts Terracotta Blaze card and black card.

I finished it off by die cutting the birthday wishes sentiment using the Tonic Miniature Moments set, and notes using the Tonic Rococo Musical dies out of white card. I just dotted them about the card.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like my card, if you've time to leave a comment that would be great.

Summer cornfields

Hello,
I've made this card for a couple of challenges including Win & Tonic where I've gone for these themes: hot colours, the technique of paper piecing. I will be giving it to a friend for her summer birthday as I thought the bright colours would really cheer her up.

I made it using mainly Tonic products: Sun Ray Scene, Pine Cone Season and September Harvest dies, the tuft of grass is from the Golf Set dies, plus the Layered Leaves embossing folder. Most of the card is Tonic's Craft Perfect card stock plus kraft card. The Sun Ray image is layered on to the Kraft card embossed using the Layered Leaves and then all on to a cream card blank. The centre disc is layered on to the front using foam pads to give dimension.

I'm getting better at paper piecing which I must admit I did find a bit of a faff to start with but the results are worth it in the end.

I hope you like it, if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

I don't do mornings!

Hello,
this is a card made for one of my close friends and we always joke she really doesn't do mornings! As soon as I saw the image I thought of her.

The image is from a pad of funny pictures which I bought and split with a friend so I'm not sure where it came from, but might have been Docrafts. The co-ordinating patterned backing paper is from the same pad. I covered an A5 card blank with lilac card, then matted purple card and the backing paper on to the card front. I matted the image on to the same purple card and fixed it to the card front at a jaunty angle using foam pads.

The sentiment is cut from the lilac and the purple card using a Tonic Miniature Moments die then drop shadowed one on top of the other, fixed to the card front. I finished the card off by adding some purple card candi from Craftwork Cards.

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment it will be very much appreciated.

Ladybug fairy

Hello,
this is my DT card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge blog for July. This month we're sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps and I've made the card using their Ladybug stamp.

I started with an 8 x 8 white card blank. In a recent issue of Quick Cards made easy the free gift was some Fairy Dust papers and stamps which I've used. I cut 2 panels of black card to cover each side of the card front, matted the pink fairy paper on to them, and then the panels to the card front.

I printed the Ladybug digistamp and coloured it using a mix of Promarkers (Gold, Tulip, Cardinal Red, Meadow Green) and Spectrum Noirs (TB1, TB2, TB3) then added sparkle to the wings using a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. Using the Tonic Deco Layering die set I die cut the image, a blue mat from a Hobbycraft Ombre Array pad and another mat from black card. These were layered up and fixed to the card front using foam pads.

I stamped a sentiment from the free gift and cut that and a black mat from the same Tonic die set. I fixed this to a blue band the same width as one of the panels and fixed the whole thing to the card front using glue. I finished the card off by adding some Craftwork Cards card candi in two shades of pink to match the pink backing paper.

I hope you like the card, any comments are much appreciated and please join us this month at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge.

Fairy and Unicorn birthday card

Hello there,
This is the birthday card I made for my sister-in-law, who I know likes fairies.

This card is a mix of items from CD crafting and die cutting. I started with an A5 tent fold card blank on to which I layered a silver mat. The next layer is blue card with a blue vellum layer on top attached with silver brads to make a good colour match. I wrapped these layers with a white ribbon with a silver edge and mounted them on to the card blank.

I created the image with the fairy and unicorn using CraftArtist 2 and the Fantasy Fairies digikit, and highlighted the wings with clear Wink of Stella. I rounded the corners and attached it to a silver mat also with rounded corners which I attached to the card using foam pads.

To finish it off I added some white flowers which I'd highlighted with Wink of Stella to the topper, floral silver stickers, a sentiment and a bow to match the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by, if you'd like to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

You rock birthday card

Hello,
Another birthday card using a combination of Tonic dies and a Hunkydory image, this one is from the Little Book of Everything, and was made for my nephew's birthday.

I picked out the brown in the image background and used a 7 x 7 kraft card blank. On to this I matted and layered red card and then cream which co-ordinated with the colours in the image. I layered the image on to the same cream and red card, then put this on the left side on the card front using foam pads.

I used the Tonic Miniature Moments Birthday wishes die and cut it in red and cream card, drop shadowed the red one on to the cream one and placed this on the card front. I also cut three notes from red card using the Tonic Rococo music dies and put them on the front.

Thanks for stopping by please leave a comment if you have time as I'd be really grateful.

Cherish the moment

Hello,

I've made this card for the Win & Tonic Challenge May 2017, which I've not entered for ages and am doing at the real last minute!

I followed these themes: Colour neutrals, Product - any Nuvo product and the Open theme of any occasion.

I used an 8 x 8 cream card base matted and layered with kraft card and pale cream and goldy cream patterned paper from the docrafts Papermania Capsule collection Oyster Blush. I die cut the Cherish the Moment die set from Limetree Crafts' Caramel Twist card and layered on to a paler cream mat from the same Papermania Capsule collection, then put it on the card front using foam pads. I also die cut the butterfly column from the Sew Pretty range in the 2 shades of cream, then drop shadowed one on the other using small foam pads.

I finished it off by adding mother of pearl embellishment mousse to the butterflies, sentiment and to the edges of the die cut topper. I also added a few pearls, I was going to use Nuvo Crystal drops but the bottle was gummed up so I'll need to sort that out!

I hope you like it, please leave a comment if you've got time.

16th birthday card

Hello,
this is a card I made for a friend's daughter for her 16th birthday - a bit of a milestone birthday so I wanted to choose something with some meaningful words.

This was made from the Hunkydory Wishes on Wings kit which has some really pretty images in it and nice verses on tags. As it was a special birthday and I wanted to fit an image and verse on the front I used and 8 x 8 card blank - as I was handing it over no need to worry about postage costs! Having chosen the toppers I used the complementary backing card to cover the front of the card. I used the Tonic Art Nouveau die to cut two mats from Adorable Scorable card I had in my stash to put the topper and verse on to.

To finish it off I chose a matching sentiment, added the number 16 die cut from silver mirri to match the foiling on the toppers and added a double silver bow.

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Engagement card and box

Hello,
today I'm sharing an engagement card and box I made from a Hunkydory kit.

I needed something I could make quickly as we went on holiday just after the party invite so had to do something quickly when we got back. This kit was ideal as the instructions were so clear. It came in a pack of three others in the same style but for other occasions.

I made the card, which is in fact a box card with a stand, following the instructions. The outer box was pretty easy too and I decorated it with some silver mirri card, a topper and sentiment from another HD set. I lined the inside of the box with paper from yet another HD kit to finish it off and popped some tissue paper in to hold the card inside.

My friends were really pleased with the card so I shall definitely make up the others in the kit ready for the right occasion.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment if you'd like to - I'd be really grateful.

Easter cross

Hello there,
this was the only religious Easter card I made this year. My non-religious Easter cards are here.

I started with a Pickled Potpourri image of a cross, stained glass window and daffodils, and picked out parts of the image in grey, green and yellow. I'm not a colourist so needed to keep it simple! I used the Tonic Deco Trellis die to cut the image out and then layered this on to a black mat I'd made using the same die cut twice and put on top of each other. The background is grey pearlescent card embossed with a brick embossing folder, and layered on to a black mat.

I made the sentiment using the PC and cut it and the yellow and black mats using a Spellbinders Petite Labels die. Both the topper and sentiment were put on the card using foam pads to add a little dimension.

Thanks for stopping by, any comment you'd like to leave would be really appreciated.

Easter cards

Hello,

I usually make religious cards for Easter but this year I decided to make a couple of non-religious ones. My religious card is here Easter Cross.

I chose images from the Little Book of Everything to match the recipients' interests, birds for my Mom, cats for Mother-in-law and rabbits for an Aunt.

For the bird and cat ones I found some patterned Hunkydory backing card which co-ordinated with the images. For the rabbit one I recycled the green card Tonic pack their dies in! I then used some plain card to mat the image and patterned backing card on to.

I stamped a sentiment, added a bit of colour with my Promarkers and then matted them on to the plain coloured card. I finished them off with a bow in the case of the rabbit and bird one, and an acetate butterfly for the cat one as it had butterflies in the image.

These were quick and easy to make which was what I needed as I had to make them in a hurry!

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a copy it would be really appreciated.

Sunshine and flowers

Hello,
still not managing to find as much time to craft as I'd like - still decorating and catching up with chores.

This is another card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog, which has the theme of the Summer Solstice which is in June. I made it basically using Tonic dies and yellow, gold, green and blue card stock from Tonic, plus Limetree Crafts Poppy red card and Anna Marie Amber Sparkle card. I used the Tonic Sunray Window die to cut in gold and yellow card, then used the yellow as the base which I layered on to blue card for the sky and green for the ground. I then paper pieced using bits from the yellow and gold die cuts. I cut a narrow frame in green and layered it on top then layered it all on to the amber sparkle card.

The centre piece is the middle of the Sunray Window in gold matted on to amber sparkle with and amber sparkle circle in the middle. I added this to the centre using foam pads to give some added dimension.

The white flowers are cut using the different size dies in the Tonic Entwining Trellis Daisy die with a yellow brad in the middle. The red poppies are cut in the same way using the Bellus Buttercup die from the same set with a black brad in the middle. I finished it off with a few flourishes cut from a pale green card using the Frond Finesse die.

I hope you like it, please join us in the Fairy and Unicorn challenge this month.

Fairy wishes

Hello,
still not managing to get time to post much, even though I have made a few cards! This is for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge, the theme this month is "Enchanted Forest".

This is basically two 6 x 6 cards scored down the centre of the front and then the backs glued one on top of the other to create a fold back, gate fold card. I used Tonic card in 2 shades of green to create the mats for the outer panels and main back panel. On the front panels I cut branches and leaves from green and brown card using the Tonic Fallen leaves, Autumnal Oak and September Harvest die sets, plus the grass from the Tonic Golf die set. On each of the inner folds I added grass cut using the Pine Cones Season die set.

For the main back panel I cut several cuts in two shades of green using the Frond Finesse and arranged them around the edge. The centre is the Fae Fairy Trellis cut in dark brown, with the butterfly and fairy cut again in cream highlighted with the Tonic Nuvo mother of pearl embellishment mouse and decoupaged on top. The sentiment is from a set of fairy stamps which came free with a magazine. I also stamped a Sheena Douglas dragonfly and a Cardio bee.

I hope you like my card, please join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge and fell free to leave a comment if you'd like to.

Birthday hedgehog

Hello there,
this is a card for a male friend which bucks the trend of cars, sport or wine - although I think he's had all of those in the past! I happened to find out that he really likes hedgehogs so when I saw this image I immediately decided to use it for his birthday card.

It's made using mainly Hunkydory products, the image is from the Little Book of Everything, the card stock is Adorable Scorable, and the sentiment is from a Hunkydory set I bought ages ago. I finished it off using a few gold pearls to match the foiling.

My friend was really pleased with the card, and I hope you like it too. Thanks for stopping by, if you'd like to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Car birthday card

Hello there,
I've made a couple of variations of this card, one is a plain flat card, the other has a diagonal cut front to it. Men can be difficult to make for and  generally seem to use cars, sport or wine! The plan one was quite quick and easy to make - good job as I was finishing it off the day before the birthday. I had a bit more time for the other so decided to tray the cut front.

It's an 8 x 8 white card blank matted and layered with a dark green mat and a light green, linen effect metallic card - I thought they picked out the colours in the car. The image is from the Hunkydory Little Book of Everything and has been matted onto the green card, then fixed to the card front using foam pads for dimension.
The embellishments are cogs cut from black card using X-Cut dies, and the sentiment is a Craftwork Cards one layered on to a light green then a dark green mat, both cut using the cogs dies.

I'm quite pleased with this design and have made another plain version one already, and hope you like it too. I've a couple more male birthdays this year so can see me making more like this.

If you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Fairy tales - Bambi, a Life in the Woods

Hello there,
this is the card I've made for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge for April, which has the theme of fairy tales. I've taken Bambi, a Life in the Woods written by Felix Salten in 1923, and which the famous Disney movie Bambi was based on.

I've not posted since the last challenge - been up to my ears decorating! I had a couple of false starts with this one as my printer has been playing up, I finally managed to print the background out for this and have been able to cover up the printer deposited splodges.

I started with an 8 x 8 cream card blank, on to which I put a green mat. I printed a background from the Daisytrail Fantasy Fairies digikit, and stamped swirls using a Sheena Douglas stamp I got free in a magazine. I stamped a few bird silhouettes on the corner of the background. I ripped a square from green mulberry paper and put it on the card front at a jaunty angle.

I die cut the trees from brown card, it's actually the Apple Blossom Woodland Scene die but with the stag removed from the middle and replaced with a brown faun, not sure where that die came from though. I've got some distress backgrounds so used one of those as the background and stamped another bird silhouette. I put this on the card front on top of the green paper using foam pads.

I then cut foliage from green card using the Tonic Royal Fern die, and tucked it around the central image to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by, if you've time to leave a comment that would be great.

Mothers' Day cards

Hello,
these are the cards I made for my Mom and my Mother-in-law this year.

Both were made using a Hunkydory kit which was a members gift, and were made using 8 x 8 cards fold back on the front.

I also used Tonic dies: the Mothers' day die from the Affections die set and also the Sent with Love sentiment from the Miniature Moments collection.

I finished off my Mom's card with some blue roses and Mother-in-law's with some gold pearls.

Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog launch card

Hello there,
This is my first post for the new Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog, and I'm really pleased to be involved with a team of such talented ladies.

This card is a mix of items from CD crafting and die cutting. I started with a silver 8 x 8 card blank on to which I layered a dark blue mat. I created the image with the fairy and unicorn using CraftArtist 2 and the Fantasy Fairies digikit, and highlighted the wings with clear Wink of Stella. I also printed a background paper from the Snow Queen digikit which I layered on to the dark blue mat on the card.

I used the outer edges dies from the Thank You set of the Tonic Sentiments Collection Dies to cut a dark blue mat and a mat from silver card which matched the card blank, and from an inner edge to cut the image. From the same die set I used the fancy edge from Just a Note to cut the pattern into the silver card. I then layered them all up and attached it to the card using foam pads. I finished it off with a Tonic sentiment and an organza and silver bow.

I hope you like the card, please join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog. If you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.

Kraft card butterfly birthday

Hello,
I wasn't sure about Kraft card to start with but having used it a few times now I'm starting to see how good it can be.

This is a birthday card I've made for a friend. I used an 8 x 8 Kraft card blank and put a black mat onto it. I've just bought a Kraft card pad with all the papers having a black pattern printed on them, so used that for the next mat. I'd nipped into The Works to kill some time and came out with a bag full of goodies - as you do!

I then die cut 4 square black mats and white layers using my Tonic Layering dies. The butterflies were cut from red card using the Tonic Rococo Butterfly Sprig butterfly, and the red sentiment is from the Tonic Miniature Moments Sentiments dies. These panels were added using foam pads to give a bit of dimension.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like the card, and if you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it

Black and white birthday butterfly

Hello there,
I really like monochrome cards, particularly black and white, but also sometimes with a bit of red added into the mix.

For this card I used an 8 x 8 card blank and added a black mat. The large white mat and smaller panel are both made using some Kanban embossed roses card which I've had in my stash for ages. The small square panel is also layered on to a black mat, placed over some black satin ribbon which I also used for the bow. The pre die cut butterfly is also Kanban from a black, white and red kit I picked up ages ago at a show, it was going cheap as it was all in German! I added some black gems to the body of the butterfly and a swirly gem trail, a Craftwork Cards sentiment and gems to the corners.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Crafty Girlz Challenges: Black and white theme
Seize the Birthday: ATG
Tuesday Throwdown: Favourite embellishment - Butterfly

Kitchen goddess card

Hello there,
this is a birthday card I made for a good friend who is an absolute whiz at making cakes.

It's mainly made from Hunkydory products, the backing card is Adorable Scorable card and the verse is from their Second Little Book of Poetry. The topper and sentiment are from free kits I'd got from magazines or as Club member's gifts, I can't really remember I've had them so long! I popped a piece of white card inside and covered by the verse on the front so you can write inside.

Its the first card I've made with a diagonal cut on the front, I think it's quite effective so I'm sure I'll do this again. I hope you like it too.
