First Groovi parchment cards

Hello there,
I've ventured into uncharted territory and had a go at Groovi parchment work - and they are right it is a bit addictive!

I went to the Creative Crafts show at the NEC with my crafting friend and we did a Make and Take at the Clarity Stamp Groovi stand, the card below is the one I started there. As I was a total newbie to this I was a lot slower at it than the rest so I finished it at home, and am quite pleased with the result especially for a first attempt.

I bought the starter kit at the show and using the instructions which came with it, plus Barbara Grey's YouTube videos I made this card which I have sent to my Mom. She was very pleased with it.

I've already bought more plates so I think this will be something I'll enjoy doing for a long time - it's so relaxing!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.

Ruby wedding anniversary

Hello,
this is a card I made for a dear friend to celebrate her Ruby Wedding Anniversary, as it was a special one I also made a box for it.

I used various Tonic dies from their Affections collection, a sentiment and an alphabet die of theirs, plus the Amelia embossing folder - this is one I use a lot - and finished it off with a red bow and some pearls.

I've used this die set lots of times for anniversaries and also Mother's Day as it has a sentiment for that too.

Autumn leaves

Hello,
here again with my DT card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge for November, which is sponsored this month by digistamps4joy, I've chosen the Leaf Fairy.

What I've used

8 x 8 Anna Marie Designs gold card blank, to reflect the Autumn colours
Anna Marie Designs Dark Copper card stock for the matting and layering
Docrafts Tilly Daydream Autumn leaves paper, which I've had for ages
Leaf Fairy digistamp coloured using: Spectrum Noir FS2, FS3, LG3, LG5, OR1, OR3, GB6, DR5, TN6
Image and mat cut using Sue Wilson Double Pierced Circles die
Leaves and acorns cut from card from Limetree Crafts Continental Coffee, Create and Craft Copper and Ana Marie Designs Harvest Gold using Tonic Autumnal Oak, Fallen Leaves and September Harvest dies
I found the sentiment on the internet and just printed it from my PC.

Backing the leaves and paper piecing the acorns was a bit of a faff but I think the end result was worth it, hope you do too. If you've time to leave a comment that would be great, all are appreciated.

Mermaid under the sea

Hello,
not posted for a while as we've been on holiday and having work done on the house. I'm also in the process of moving my craft room to a bigger room - in the meantime half of it is packed up so getting to my stash is a bit tricky!

This is my DT card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge blog, the theme is anything goes with the option of under the sea. Fortunately I managed to find a few things to make the card, so it's a quite simple one this month.

What I used

White 8x8 card blank
Tonic oval dies, plain and scalloped edge
Neenah Solar White stamping card
Papermania dark blue and light blue card for matting and layering
Creative Expressions Raindrops embossing folder to try and indicate being underwater
The images were all stamped using stamps which came with various magazines
Memento Marine Blue ink for stamping
Joy! diamond effect gems
Three Kings Ribbon in opal to cross the corners and trail from the main gem.

I hope you like the card, please leave a comment if you've time, any are really appreciated. Please also join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month.

Fairy in the clouds

Hello,
here's my card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge for June, the theme is Mythical/Mystical/Anything goes. This month is just for fun as we have no sponsor so I decided to use something from my stash that I'd not used before. I'm trying to do this now as I've so much unused stuff!

What I used

White 8x8 card blank
American Crafts The Color of Memories background paper
Hobbycraft Periwinkle pearlescent card
Anna Marie Designs white stamping card
Fairy stamp and sentiment stamp from my stash - I think free with a magazine
Memento Grape Jelly ink
Tonic Trailing star die
Sizzix oval and rectangular pin prick dies
The small stars were from the Tonic die cuts and the larger one from a punch
I bought a Misti stamping platform a while ago as I'd tried stamping a couple of years ago and given up as I was rubbish at it. Using the platform has really improved my stamping.

I hope you like the card, please leave a comment if you've time - all are gratefully received! Please also join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month.

Fairy at the bottom of the garden

Hello,

This is my design team card for the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge for May. The theme is anything goes with the option of Fairy at the bottom of the garden.

As we had no specific sponsor this month I decided to have a play with CraftArtist2 as I've not had time to do so for ages. I created it using mainly the Moonbean Forest digikit and printed it on to card which I then mounted on to a cream 8 x 8 card blank.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like it and that you'll join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month.

Valentine Fairy

Hello,
Among my new year's resolutions was to make more cards, enter more challenges and post more often. Unfortunately it's not gone very well! This is only my second post - although I have prepared and even made a few cards which I can hopefully post soon.

This is my DT card for the February Fairy and Unicorn Challenge which is sponsored by the fabulous digistamps4joy this month, and has the theme Use Red. I have used the Spring Fairy image, which I coloured using a mix of Promarker and Spectrum Noir pens. I used Promarkers: Black, Leaf Green, Poppy and Cardinal Red. Spectrum Noirs: EB2 (basket); GB1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 (hair); FS2, 3 and 6 (skin); CR3 (cheeks); IG1, 2 and 3 (wings) plus Powder Blue.

I started with an 8x8 card blank which I matted with red card and then white card which had been embossed using the Tonic Amelia folder and then dusted with red ink. I cut the mage out using Tonic's Art Nouveau die and put it on to a red mat cut using the same die. I finished it off with a red ribbon bow, some die cut red hearts and Tonic's Will's Hand Love sentiment.

I hope you like my card, if you've time to leave a comment that would be great too!

Blue unicorn

Hello,
Welcome to my first post of 2018, and I'd like to wish you a happy new year! It's been a while since I posted so I've decided that among my new year's resolutions are to make more cards, enter more challenges and post more often. So we'll see how that goes.

This card is my DT card for the Fairy and Unicorn January challenge, sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. I used a white 8 x 8 card blank and matted it with yellow card and some blue, white and yellow flower patterned paper. I used a Hobbycraft blue ombre paper which I stamped with clouds, sun and a sentiment using stamps free with a couple of magazines. I matted it on to yellow card and added it to the front of the card using foam tape.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers: Cool Grey 1 and 2, Leaf, Meadow, Canary, Powder Blue, Pastel Blue and Cobalt Blue, and added some Wink of Stella to the tail and mane. I cut it into a circle and created a yellow mat using my Tonic layering dies. I then added it to the blue mat again using foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment if you've time - and do join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge this month.
