Unicorn in the woods

Hello,

It's Challenge time again over at the Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge Blog.  As always it starts the first Saturday of the month, and  lasts for about a month. I do hope that you'll join us there.

The theme of the Challenge, as always, is Fantasy, however as long as it's Fantasy pretty much anything goes. If you're not sure what we mean by that just check out the Challenge Rules, or in the side bar on the Challenge blog. We also have a monthly optional theme, this month it's Unicorns. I had to come up with something with limited resources this month as  I'm still in the process of setting up a new PC, plus my printer's playing up! So my craft room is a mess, and my main die cutting machines aren't accessible at the moment!

Fortunately I remembered a Hunkydory kit from which I'd got some bits left over. So I chose a unicorn image from the Little Book of Twilight Kingdom.

Card recipe

7 x 7 black card blank
Hunkydory Little Book of Twilight Kingdom
Maximum Crafts 5x7 Easy frame die set
John Next Door Flags dies
White card
Pink paper from Anna Marie Garden Blooms paper pad
Stamps free with magazines
Glamour Dust glitter to highlight the stars and for dots on the frame

I hope you like the card I've made, please leave a comment to let me know what you think if you've got time. I do appreciate them and like to read them.

Floral unicorn

Hello,

Welcome to another Challenge over at the Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge Blog.  As always it starts the first Saturday of the month, and as usual it lasts for about a month. I do hope that you'll join us.

The theme of the Challenge, as always, is Fantasy, however as long as it's Fantasy pretty much anything goes. If you're not sure what we mean by that just check out the guidance in the Challenge Rules, and in the side bar on the Challenge blog. With the rename and relaunch of the Challenge Blog last month there are a few changes in what we mean by Fantasy so it might be worth checking it out.

We also now have optional monthly themes and this month it's Unicorns, so I decided to use the Unicorn Magic kit by Anne Constantly-Carding, available from craftsUprintIt's a very pretty and flexible kit, and I've used it a few times now, picking one of the colours to use as the focus. It comes with backing paper, an insert, various sentiments, and images to create decoupage. As I'm rubbish at fussy cutting I just used the flat image, die cut it and mat and layered it.

Card recipe

8 x 8 white card blank
Tonic Essentials Card in pink and green
John Next Door dies: Square and Oval Plain and Stitch Dot Layering dies, Blossom flower die and Leafy sprigs die
Happy Birthday sentiment die from my stash
Pearls  from my stash

Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog launch card

Hello there,
This is my first post for the new Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog, and I'm really pleased to be involved with a team of such talented ladies.

This card is a mix of items from CD crafting and die cutting. I started with a silver 8 x 8 card blank on to which I layered a dark blue mat. I created the image with the fairy and unicorn using CraftArtist 2 and the Fantasy Fairies digikit, and highlighted the wings with clear Wink of Stella. I also printed a background paper from the Snow Queen digikit which I layered on to the dark blue mat on the card.

I used the outer edges dies from the Thank You set of the Tonic Sentiments Collection Dies to cut a dark blue mat and a mat from silver card which matched the card blank, and from an inner edge to cut the image. From the same die set I used the fancy edge from Just a Note to cut the pattern into the silver card. I then layered them all up and attached it to the card using foam pads. I finished it off with a Tonic sentiment and an organza and silver bow.

I hope you like the card, please join us at the Fairy and Unicorn Challenge Blog. If you've time to leave a comment I'd really appreciate it.
